Aiming at the beginnings of correct education and then working on the higher level movements to demonstrate how to progress up the levels.

Famed for her light bridle contact, invisible aids and flawless seat. Her riding and training philosophy is influenced by former employer and trainer, Ingrid Klimke, as well as her current trainer, Klaus Balkenhol. It’s all about training horses according to classic principles.

“Ask only what the horse is able to do at that time. Try to have the feeling that the horse is effortlessly working on its own; let the horse go in the test and be patient.”

She explains her magic touch: “It’s down to physics really. I’m petite, so I can’t ride horses by using pressure and I wouldn’t know how anyway. This also means that not every horse is for me: I don’t ride really lazy or strong horses very well. In those cases, I prefer to be honest with the horse owners, so they can make a more suitable match for their horse”.

Tank is also off to the Winter Championships in no less than 3 classes. Tank is by Deborah Wilkinsons Hannovarian Stallion Woiwode and is owned by Joanne Graham Whelan.

Eilidh Grant and her very own 7 year old Erranda Retto coming from a very successful regional qualifier at the Morris Equestrian Centre.

Annie Cowan with her new ride Woodcroft Garuda K Trakehner Stallion owned by Tim Harris and Bernadette O’Sullivan of Woodcroft Stud, Peterborough.

Rebecca Bell with Tango. Rebecca was part of the Gold Medal winning Pony Team in Malmo Sweden last year and Tango is her new Junior Team horse.

Hayley Colwell with Zidaane after winning his 8th regional Title and a 4 year old so that is great to see. Hayley rides for Astrid Bolton Sport Horses.

Samantha Brown riding Royal Alliance who is jointly owned by Sam and Annie Cowan. Royale has had an amazing outing to the regionals with her best score to-date at this level after recently stepping up to Adv Medium. Holmgaards Bastian is a Knabstrupper stallion and not your typical dressage horse but is howling great aptitude fro the higher level dressage since making the switch from show jumping.

So all in all a great show to be had and we are excited to see what Helen thinks of the horses and how she can improve their overall way of going.

We will concentrate mainly on the higher level work in this gala evening after a brief introduction with the young horses and basics established.

A great way to see how to make the move up the levels with your horse. smile emoticon Dont forget to get your questions ready as we want every opportunity to gain from Helen’s knowledge while she is here.
