Rules and Information for Leamside Showing Competitions

 

“This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). Affiliation No 19184 Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However in order to Qualify both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card.

The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,12,14,19,27 for the CHAPS (UK) Championships Show 28th – 31st August  2019. For full rulings and information on competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) Members’ Handbook; or visit www.chapsuk.com for rulings.

All stallions entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). All stallions must wear Stallion ID Discs in the ring.

 

This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 29th Aug – 1st Sept 2019. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.

 

This show is affiliated to Equine Sports UK (ESUK) Grassroots Championships taking place at Arena UK, Grantham Lincolnshire on the 1st – 4th August 2019. The three highest placed exhibits will qualify in each class.

 

TSR Riders & IN HAND Championships – This show is a qualifier for the 2019 TSR Riders/In Hand Regional Championships. Qualify and enter ANY of the Regional Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales & South West or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals!
TSR Riders Champs – 1st & 2nd riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring.
TSR In Hand Champs – The two highest placed Handlers with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand class. Handlers MUST have their cards signed in the ring by the judge/steward, cards are available FREE from the TSR website.  Full details at

Class 7    Open Sports Horse/Pony (not split in to height groups)

Open to In Hand Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D.  Stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.

Class 10   Rare and Foreign Breeds

Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Breed Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland and Welsh A or B. Mare or gelding, 4 years & over, not exceeding 128cms.

For Lead Rein: Riders to not have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

First Ridden: riders not have attained their 12th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. Shown in any bridle.

Class 18        Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden

Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies

Ridden Championship for 1st & 2nd Place in all of the above classes to take place at the end of class 28.

Champion and Reserve Champion from the CHAPS, In-hand and Ridden championship will then go forward to become

Supreme Champion of the Leamside Equestrian Easter Show
